About this subspecialty

Obstetrics and Gynecology, a subspecialty within Women’s Healthdiagnoses, treats and manages a wide range of reproductive, menstrual, pelvic and pregnancy-related conditions in patients (13 years and older), including abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and tumors, painful intercourse, infertility issues, menopause, pregnancy and postpartum care, and other routine and complex gynecologic concerns.

Our team provides nonsurgical and surgical treatments, including patient education, lifestyle guidance, medications, minimally invasive procedures, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, hysterectomy and other specialized interventions when appropriate. If more complex or acute needs are identified, we help connect you to the most appropriate level of care. Whether you are seeking routine preventive care, managing a specific gynecologic condition or planning for pregnancy, we are dedicated to helping you maintain your health, improve comfort and support your overall quality of life. If a higher level of care is needed, we can help connect you to subspecialty services in gynecologic oncologyminimally invasive gynecologic surgerypelvic floor physical therapy and urogynecology.

Our treatment approach

At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.

UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
