About this subspecialty

Gynecologic Oncology, a subspecialty within Women's Health, diagnoses, treats and manages gynecologic cancers and high-risk conditions in patients (13 years and older), including cervical, endometrial/uterine, ovarian, fallopian tube, primary peritoneal, vaginal and vulvar cancers, as well as precancerous conditions such as cervical, vaginal, and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia and hereditary cancer syndromes like BRCA mutations and Lynch syndrome.

Our team provides comprehensive care using surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and other targeted treatments, alongside supportive care services for the body, mind and heart — all combining the latest research and technology with personalized treatment plans. Whether you are receiving treatment for a known cancer, managing a high-risk condition, or seeking evaluation for suspicious pelvic masses, we are dedicated to helping you maintain balance, wellness and quality of life throughout your care.

Our treatment approach

At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.

UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
