About this subspecialty

Urogynecology, a subspecialty within Women’s Health, diagnoses, treats and manages pelvic floor disorders in patients (13 years and older), including urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, rectocele, cystocele, fistulas, overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis and other conditions affecting the female pelvic floor.

Our team provides personalized nonsurgical and surgical treatments, including pelvic floor physical therapy, medication, injections, minimally invasive procedures, and reconstructive surgeries such as sling placement, sphincter repair and robotic-assisted prolapse repair, designed to improve function, reduce pain and restore quality of life. Whether you are managing symptoms after childbirth, navigating changes with menopause or seeking treatment for other pelvic floor concerns, we are dedicated to helping you regain control, reduce discomfort and achieve your individual health goals.

Our treatment approach

At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.

UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
