About this subspecialty
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, a subspecialty within Women's Health, diagnoses, treats and surgically manages a range of gynecologic conditions in patients (13 years and older), including abnormal uterine bleeding, adenomyosis, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, infertility-related conditions, pelvic adhesive disease, chronic pelvic pain and other structural or reproductive issues.
Our team provides minimally invasive surgical treatments using laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, vaginal and robotic-assisted approaches, performing procedures such as hysterectomy, myomectomy, cystectomy, endometrial ablation, fertility-sparing surgery and excision of endometriosis when appropriate, with the goal of reducing pain, shortening recovery times and improving overall outcomes. Whether you are seeking treatment for a complex gynecologic condition or a procedure to improve comfort and reproductive health, we are dedicated to helping you restore function, minimize recovery time and support your overall quality of life.
Our treatment approach
At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.
UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
