About this subspecialty

Women's Reproductive Mental Health of Texas, a subspecialty within the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciencesdiagnoses, treats and manages mental health conditions, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and grief from pregnancy and infant loss, perinatal opiate dependency and other trauma-related disorders, related to reproductive transitions such as the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, postpartum and menopause in adult patients (18 years and older) who are currently pregnant, anticipating conception or within six months postpartum.

Our team provides comprehensive care using evidence-based approaches, including perinatal evaluation, treatment planning, medication management and guidance on the safety of psychiatric medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We are dedicated to helping you feel supported and confident through pregnancy and postpartum.

Our treatment approach

At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.

UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
