About this subspecialty
The Shoulder and Elbow Clinic, a subspecialty within the Musculoskeletal Institute, diagnoses, treats and manages conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow joints in patients (14 years and older), including arthritis, rotator cuff tears, dislocations, fractures and tendinitis.
Our team provides nonsurgical and surgical treatments, including patient education, lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, medications, joint injections, arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, tendon transfers and complex or revision joint replacements when appropriate. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing arthritis or rotator cuff conditions, or experiencing pain due to overuse or aging, we are dedicated to relieving pain, restoring mobility and helping you maintain healthy, functional shoulder and elbow joints.
Our treatment approach
At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.
UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
