About this subspecialty
The Hip and Knee Clinic, a subspecialty within the Musculoskeletal Institute, diagnoses, treats and manages conditions affecting the hip and knee joints in adult patients (14 years and older), including arthritis, avascular necrosis, meniscal tears, fractures, ligament injuries and tendinitis.
Our team provides nonsurgical and surgical treatments, including patient education, lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, medications, joint injections, hip and knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, partial or total joint replacement and revision surgery when appropriate. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing arthritis or inflammatory conditions, or experiencing pain due to overuse or aging, we are dedicated to relieving pain, improving mobility and helping you maintain healthy, functional hip and knee joints.
Our treatment approach
At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.
UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
