Notice of departing providers

As a valued patient of the UT Medicine Musculoskeletal Institute, we want to inform you that David Ring, M.D., is retiring from clinical practice and will no longer be seeing patients at UT Health Austin beginning September 1, 2026. While he is transitioning away from patient care, he will continue to serve Dell Medical School in an administrative role, where he will focus on advancing our academic and clinical mission. Our team remains committed to providing high-quality, team-based care for our community.

You may choose to see Zakariah Mahmood, M.D., our board-certified orthopedic hand surgeon for your continued care. Dr. Mahmood received fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery from Brown University/Warren Alpert Medical School and specializes in reconstructive procedures of the hand for common and complex conditions and injuries. If you would like to schedule a future appointment with Dr. Mahmood, please contact us at 1-512-495-5362 and one of our Access Center Partners will assist you.

Your medical records are confidential and can only be released or transferred with your authorization. If you choose to seek care elsewhere, you may request an authorization form.
